We Civil Society Organisation (CSO) IMANI Africa has responded to the Electoral
Commission (EC) after being accused of spreading false information.
The EC
released a statement dismissing statements made by Bright Simons and his
EC also mentioned previous accusations made by IMANI in 2020, which the EC
claimed were outright falsehoods.
In response, IMANI defended its principles of
conducting thorough investigations before publishing reports and expressed
surprise at the EC’s statement. IMANI stood by Bright Simons and maintained that
all the accusations against the EC were true.
